I have compiled VLC on Gentoo Linux, no problem. I may be making an assumption here that is wrong: using VLC to stream to a client, you must target a stream to a remote host. You cannot set up VLC as a server listening on a specific port to process a media request and start a stream. Am I wrong? If ...
