Re: DVBLast problem

I second that comment. TT-S3200 with Ubuntu 7.10 64-bit and DVBlast 1.1 works fine with both DVB-S and DVB-S2. As mentioned in previous comments, I would recommend using the latest vl4-dvb code for proper support of the TT-S3200 card.

Re: VLC 0.9.10 for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger - bug reports wanted!!

Thanks for releasing 0.9.10. This is much appreciated by those that still are running Tiger due to other dependencies that prevent from upgrading beyond 10.4.latest

Aspect ratio changes not supported in live dvb streams

Apologies if this is a duplicate, I didn't find any entry for this on keywords. On a live video source (in this specific case a multicast source from a DVB head-end), if the program contains aspect ratio changes from 16:9 to 4:3 or vice versa, the VLC window playing the content will not change its o...

Re: Max # of DVB devices supported under Linux for streaming

i think this isnt a problem of vlc because vlc use the device (for instance /dev/dvb/adapter0) to communicate with your dvb device. but on my oppinion its not a good idea to have more than 2 dvb cards in your system. everything of datastream must be trough the pci bus and worked up with all compone...

Max # of DVB devices supported under Linux for streaming

Apologies if this is documented somewhere, but I couldn't find it in any of the documentation I browsed. What is the maximum number of supported DVB devices in a single machine under Linux that can then resource and stream the Transport Streams? Ie: Can I have a mix of 5 (or more) DVB devices in use...

Re: Mini Core Solo - hardware limitations?

You could also consider upgrading your Mini as long as you are not afraid of playing with hardware and potentially breaking something if you are not being very carefull and precise. The CPU is on a socket but you might have a hard time finding a CPU for that generation. I did it with my Mini Core So...

Re: RTP streams don't play properly

Lack of consistency with Win32 UI to start off. In Win32 builds you specify from a drop down list the type of protocol you will be using (UDP, RTP, RTMP, etc). Under Mac OSX I can't specify if I need UDP or RTP. There is one line for both and no way (other than via the command line) to specify RTP s...

Re: RTP streams don't play properly

UDP is for raw MPEG over UDP, although VLC should anyway not crash. We agree that it's for MPEG-2 TS encapsulated streams, my point is the user can't select RTP specifically when he is joining a RTP encapsulated MPEG-2TS source. Hence the need for a drop down option as there is for the Win32 GUI. I...

No RTMP option in the GUI

In v0.98a, there doesn't seem to be an option for RTMP under File/Open Network. But this does exist on the Windows releases. Is this a GUI error or something that isn't yet integrated in OS X builds? I haven't found any info in the different documentations. But maybe I missed it. So appologises if t...

RTP streams don't play properly

Before I go ahead and report a bug I want to double check if this is the expected behaviour for an RTP stream that is being opened in VLC 0.9.8 (Intel). The RTP stream I'm joining is on 239.192.2.40, port 3000. If I use the default options from the GUI, Radio button UDP/RTP Multicast, this generate ...

Re: No SAP announcements received in 0.9.0-git nightly 20080521

I seem to have a problem with SAP. Maybe the same? In the two version tested (vlc-git-intel-20080814-0437, vlc-git-intel-20080826-0048) i can't find any streams. If i use version 0.8.6h i have no problem finding and playing the streams. The settings for SAP (Playlist -> Services discovery -> SAP) a...

So I've just tested SAP on IPv4 networks with vlc-git-intel-20080813-0048 and vlc-git-intel-20080814-0437 nightlies and it appears to be working again. Thanks for fixing this.

Re: No SAP announcements received in 0.9.0-git nightly 20080521

This should have been fixed by thedj very recently. Can you test with very latest nightly?

Thanks.
I take it you are referring to http://git.videolan.org/gitweb.cgi/vlc. ... 382a7c96cf. Correct?

Will give it a shot tomorrow and report back.

Re: Why are there no new nighties?

Every once in a while the VLC team seems to stop the nightly builds without any explanation, is there a reason for this? The Mac OS X nightly builds haven't been updated in 4 weeks, I was just wondering if there is any news on the status of the development? Because things break in the nightlies and...

Re: No SAP announcements received in 0.9.0-git nightly 20080521

I noticed that 0.9.0 doesn't appear to fallback to IPv4 in the same way 0.8.6f does so. I suspect the issue may be coming from there but can't confirm it. No SAP announcements received in 0.9.0-git nightly 20080521

It would appear that something is broken with the latest 0.9.0 nightly release (20080521) vlc-git-intel-20080521-0122.zip that is available. I'm running it on OS X 10.4.11 and see no SAP announcements at all. If I run 0.8.6.f on the same machine I see all the SAP announcements I'm expecting. I check...

Can't confirm this but I do recall that I had to run everything via eth0 or it wouldn't work. So out of habit I'm always using eth0 for the streaming and eth1 for management on those servers.

There may be a technical explanation but I don't know the details.

Adding RTP will add an extra 12 bytes to your IP packet. vs. UDP only. Compared to your payload of 7 Transport Stream packets of 188 bytes in one IP packet, I would consider this minimal.
