If you didn't install it then you won't have that menu option... You can do this instead: Open a command prompt... (Start menu->Run... Type "command", press enter...) Change directory to where vlc is located... cd "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC" Reset the config by launching vlc ...

But basically you want to play:

fiile.avi :audio-track=1

Instead of just file.avi...

Open vlc, click the View->"Stream and media info" menu item...

Then open the file and it'll tell you what it is.

Try:

dvd://c:/pathtodvdfolder/ts_video/

Or whatever the folder name of dvd videos is called...

(Not tested, just a guess...)

Maybe:

dvd://\\Computer2\k

?

If no-one knows the answer, then no-one will reply.

So the problem is streaming mp4 from your desktop to your pda?

Or are you just trying to play an mp4 on your pda?

Download the installer...
Run the installer...

Select the option to associate vlc with the filetypes you want...

Install finished... :P

Goto Settings->Preferences...
Click Advanced Options...

Click the tree item Advanced->Other...

Allow only one running instance... Check

Click Save

Close VLC, and it's done.

Just uninstall vlc and install it again and don't select that option when you install it.

Modify your shortcut to vlc to include:


--intf=skin2 playlist.m3u

As for the normal volume:

Settings->Prefences->Audio.
Default audio volume: Change that value to your liking...

Not sure about the other bits...

There's some keyboard shortcuts you can use in fullscreen mode...

I use ATL+LEFT and ALT+RIGHT for going back and forward a bit in the movie...

"subtitles down the frames" ?

Do you want to display the subtitles at the bottom of the screen instead of the top?

"Can i move the subtitles sub the movie (in the black)?"

I don't understand what you're asking...
Do you want to change the color of the subtitles to black?

J.C.: So if you had put the rar files into the playlist would it have played them all correctly?
(With a delay/gap between files probably...)

I wrote a little document that explains how to make a playlist that saves subtitle information... Here it is: VLC playlist with subtitle settings... ----------------------------------------------------------- I wanted to make a playlist for anime that remembered my audio-track and subtitle settings....

Try just maximizing the window, perhaps?

When you install vlc you can associate vlc with all file types if you like, just install it again and check the file types you want.

Place both the .avi file and the .srt in the same folder. Then open vlc, goto File->Open File... Click browse, locate the .avi file... Then click subtitle options, and click Settings... Click browse and locate the .srt file... Click ok, click ok... When it starts playing goto Video->Subtitles->Trac...

Open VLC.
Setings->Prefences.

Click Advanced Options.

Input / Codecs->Access modules->File

Caching value in ms: 300

Lower it to 50 and see if that helps.

You can also use the --file-caching option, e.g.
vlc --file-caching=50 file.mp3

Well I first said to change it via click View->Folder Options...
Did you try doing that again?

The command for the open action would be:

vlc --sub-track=0 "%1"

--sub-track <integer> Choose subtitles track

I've tested the following in a dos prompt and it works:

C:\progra~1\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe --sub-track=1 "[V-A]_Daphne_in_the_Brilliant_Blue_01_[09EC772E].mkv"

There's an "allow only one instance" option that you can set.

Open VLC, goto Settings->Preferences.
Click the Advanced Options tickbox.
Goto Advanced, Other.
Tick "Allow only one running instance"
Click Save and close VLC.

It'll now work the way you want.
