I even actually tried to use windows media player 9 and it didn't work. ( I definitely would use vlc over wmp any day of the week )

I got a codec error telling me to use Windows Media Player...then it said Aborting Video , Redirecting to Microsoft Codec Download Page, then it stops...
playing an avi file. using Version 0.9.9a Grishenko (Intel) -and- Version 1.0.1 Goldeneye (Intel 32bit)... on Leopard 10.5.8
