I have re-downloaded it, it does now seem to work with a fair number of files - including ones that quicktime spits out tho it hangs on some quicktime plays- but the input/codecs page is still blank in preferences (?) I'm running on a powermac G4 OS X 10.3.4
I tried watching avi's and mpeg's on VLC but with both formats, the picture doubles and the color is wrong, sorta pink. I didn't find any codecs that came with the VLC. How do I solve this?

I have the same problem. Where you able to solve this? I downloaded VLC a couple of times already but still no codecs.
