What about 1.0.3 RC1? Is the problem fixed with this version?

My current workaround is: SMPlayer
No poor video quality with this player and Windows 7 RTM and no need for installing additional codecs.

Same problems with VLC and Windows 7 RTM x64. Is there a workaround available?
