Re: Playlists broken

It's just a simple flat list that worked in VLC before and still works in, ugh, WMP and Winamp. Having the list without any drive reference allows me to move the files and playlists to any drive I want without having to edit the playlists' internal drive designation. This new behavior in VLC is the ...

Playlists broken

In all previous versions of VLC I was able to have playlists that didn't have the drive assignment only the path for the songs. When the playlist was given to VLC it looked in the current drive, i.e., the drive where the playlist is, found the songs and all was right with the world. Ah bliss. Played...

Re: Playlist memory

That fixed the problem. Of course it recreated the sub-directory as soon as I ran VLC. Does that imply there's a corrupted file in it? FOUND IT: The problem was a corrupted line in the INI. It was filedialog-path=\xfffd\s3\x2 When I changed that to the one created in the newly-created vlc sub-direct...

Re: Playlist memory

Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\vlc is where I see it on my Win XP Pro system. Is there someplace else it could be hiding?

Sorry to be so dense but I don't want to screw anything up.

Re: Playlist memory

Nothing. Normally when you do a Save As you get the standard Windows Save As dialog pop-up window but I don't get anything. I've restarted Windows and tried it again (several times) always with the same results.

Re: Playlist memory

I don't get the typical Save As dialogue box. Does that imply I have a corrupted installation?

Depend on what VLC version you are using. VLC 1.0.1 should have normal save dialog.
I'm using 1.0.1 so what does that mean and how can I fix it?

Re: Playlist memory

Rats! I was hoping that VLC would store it in a database or in an INI (or something). Hijacking my own thread : if I add files to the playlist window and do Ctrl-Y or click Media > Save Playlist to File... I don't get the typical Save As dialogue box. Does that imply I have a corrupted installation...

Playlist memory

I've looked in preferences, the FAQ and the forum but I'm unable to find out if it's possible to have the playlist remember the position of the last item played. Obviously this is a big deal with very large palylists. I'm sure this has come up before and I'm just not searching for the right term in ...
