unchecked the ( use hardware YUV- RGB conversions ) button under preferences video tab and then restarted VLC. Problem solved

Ever since I updated to 1.0.1 I've lost the image. It's playing, there's audio, just black screen. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. tried going back to 1.0.0, no help. Running XPpro sp3
