I've encoded some videos to H264 using Premiere CS4, but upon playing them with VLC it cuts a second or two before the end. N.B.: for your information, the bug seems to be absent from v0.9.9, but present in v1.0.0.

The point is the internal update feature of VLC is broken for some.

Hello all.

Same thing happens to me. Cannot possibly update here, even with Firefox closed. Had to workaround downloading the update via Firefox in order to successfully update without the error message displaying. It is as though my hard drive is write protected to VLC! Strange, isn't it?
