Does it work for you with 1.0.2 or 1.0.5rc? I never had any issues with it in XP Home SP3.

The version can be found under Help > About. This is not my field but it might help to know what OS you are using or some info about the DVDs you are trying to play.

The latest build can be downloaded from http://nightlies.videolan.org/. The trunk builds are 1.1.0 GIT.

Is it possible to shrink the full screen controller and add/remove buttons? Thanks in advance.

If you don't have 5.1 speakers but the computer is set to 5.1 then its doesn't work. I had the same issue. I don't know why it works that way.

File is Media and Convert/Save is Wizard. The command is Ctrl+R.

And set the video and audio input pins to 1 for composite, 2 for s-video, and I think 3 is component. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

P.S. If the device is USB based there will be an audio device from the Pinnacle card. Select that or you wont get sound.

I have a similar issue. The video/audio is choppy unless I convert to ogg. Any help is appreciated.

This issue is existent on all versions of Windows. The developers are well aware of the issue but don't know (last I heard) how to fix it.

Same issue. I think it is a bug. If I speed up or slow down anything the audio is distorted (cracking and popping). As for chipmunk audio, I'm sure most people don't care (I wish it was still there).

Enter %appdata% into the address bar in Explorer. The actual directory is C:\Documents and Settings\*user*\Application Data but that is hidden.

(to enable the address bar right click to the left of the menu in the explorer window, unlock the task bars, add the address bar and move it if necessary)

View > Advanced controls. Now there should be a A-B repeat button on the player, along with a snapshot, record, and frame by frame button. Or... You can customize interface and add an A-B repeat button.

Is it one file or multiple .mp4 files? Does it work by using Menu > Open File in VLC? If its one file that's not working it is probably corrupt, if multiple files don't work its player.

What kind of video is it? Mpeg? OMG? MKV?
Was it a torrent? If so, do a Force Re-Check. If not, vid may be fake.

considering the new versions don't even let you skip to a specific int in the video, I don't mind using RealPlayer as an alternative. At least RealPlayer lets me chose a point in the video, new VLC lets you, the jumps back half a minute if at all. There is only so much you can take of that. I hope ...

I'm using VLC because the tuners included software (modified Cyberlink TV Enhance) is ****.

I've had the best luck converting into an Ogg video and then into Mpeg.

I had to click advanced options and scroll down.

The full screen code for X11 has been rewritten for VLC 1.1. That should fix your issue.

I never got mpeg to mpeg conversions to work. Convert to Ogg Vorbis and then to MP3.
