I have found that WMP 12 works best, now playing with xfire, yahoo, and Windows Live Messenger flawless.

I still use VLC for movies though, its the best ;)

Indeed. I have switched to Windows 7 and Windows Media player 12.. thanks for all the help though guys!

correct.. have you tried removing %appdata%\vlc folder (its hidden.. you need to enable seeing hidden folder)

Now it frezes 80% of the time when i load it up.. and doesnt display songs anymore. this is so erratic..

I will try that for your and report back.. thanks!

Okay.. now something weird has happened.. now it displays the songs in the write place and the correct labels,, but most of the time when i double click to playlist file to start it, it freezes and i have to end the process and try again several times. I didnt do anything extra to it since i first p...

these are normal songs.. and if I play them individually.. they display correctly in my "now playing"

VLC 1.0.1 MSN Now Playing issue with Windows Live Messenger

In Preferences/Interface I have "MSN now playing" enabled, to show what songs im listening to in my status on windows live messenger plus, but it only shows "playlist" as the song playing.. because i am playing an .m3u playlist.. is there any way to fix this?
