Re: video colors changed from official build to my build

VLC_HELP,

I found that 'modules\video_output\msw\directx.c' already contains the declaration:

add_bool( "directx-hw-yuv", 1, NULL, HW_YUV_TEXT, HW_YUV_LONGTEXT,true )

on vlc_module_begin()

should I make something diferent?

thanks,
Lex

Re: Creating new modules (for Windows) without compilation

Vlc_help,

When using production version (1.0.0 or 1.0.1) it plays well my AVI videos (colors are "ok")!

Is this a known issue just for development versions?

Re: Creating new modules (for Windows) without compilation

j-b, unfortunatelly, following these procedures, I found that video colors are diferent from when I use media player or other player. look that first time when I tried, with 1.0.0 version and CYGWIN (now I'm using MSYS) I had same behavior, event when running the software on other computer. any idea...

Re: Creating new modules (for Windows) without compilation

I followed wiki instructions (MSYS) and downloaded latest contribs from http://people.videolan.org/~jb/Contribs/.

maybe should I use a specific contrib to build this 1.0.1 version?

Re: compiling for win and twolame

Should these contribs be moved to the standard folders like ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/vlc/version/win32/contrib-yyyymmdd-win32-version-bin-gcc-gccversion-only.tar.bz2 as most wikis refers ? or as they are from development versions shouldn't be there ? I'm available to help doing this administrative...

Re: compiling for win and twolame

I updated the Win32CompileMSYSNew topic explaining about this new contrib folder. j-b, I guess that as http://people.videolan.org/~jb/Contribs/ breaks some location rules for storing this contribs. Is this correct? If yes, Is there any way that I can copy/move the files to the standard contribs fold...

Re: Creating new modules (for Windows) without compilation

j-b, thanks for your reply. I already rebuild VLC on Windows changing a demux (I'm studing it before start contributing). But, unfortunatelly, my own version appears to be much unstable relative to the official build, even without any changes. I got latest contrib from your personal folder. Llogging...

Creating new modules (for Windows) without compilation

friends,

I would like to create a new demux module without recompile the entire player. is it possible?

if positive, is there any Wiki entry explaining how to achieve this objective? if not, could someone explain me and I assume myself the task of creating this wiki entry.

Re: video colors changed from official build to my build

how may I set this option using the ActiveX control, I mean, programatically?

p.s.: when I set this using my own compilted version, VLC crashes and sends a bug report!

Re: Video protection

thansk Rémi, I would say that I have a resonably trusted computing environment. The target is to minimize the chance of a standard user to get play the video with a standard player... Re: Video protection

First, thank for your reply.

I would like to minimize the change of having people copying my file and spreading over internet. This is why I would like to have the decryption done inside the player's kernel, what should be harder (Am I correct?) to crack.

Video protection

Friends, I would like to publish a personal video to Internet (any format) so it will be public, but only someone with a password will be able decode and to play it. We all know that video protection is something prone to fault as soon or later coders are able to crack the protection mecanism. Despi...

Community, if possible, try to help me... I build my player using MSYS/windows and source code version 1.1.0 with contrib 'contrib-20090813-win32-bin-gcc-4.2.1-sjlj-runtime-3.15.2-only.tar.bz2' My first target was to build all the system and get same behavior than production version. Re: compiling for win and twolame

j-b, This is what I was exactly writing before your post. I suffered same problem than 'cantinflas'.. I spent dozen of hours but now I could find a good contrib on the forum. Is there any way I could help to organize this information or maintain the compilation wiki for Win32? I built VLC using MSYS...
