I removed the directory /home/rpompeo/.config/vlc

I tested also this without success:
I tried also to read video from a USB storage formatted in FAT32, but the video doesn't start.

I made also the following tests: - download vlc 1.0.0 source files, build and install - download vlc 0.9.9a source files, build and install - download vlc 0.9.9 source files, build and install I have the same behaviour with all versions tested.
