Re: DirectX Overlay output bug in VLC 1.0.3

Just want to add that another way to recreate this bug is using zoom (z) to cause part of the video to render outside the screen area.

Re: Running two different versions on the same computer

Never mind ... I just figured out how to get older versions of VLC Portable. I am heading back to pre v1.0

Running two different versions on the same computer

I am beyond fed up with all the bugs since v1.0 was released, with each new release being worse than the last one. Is it possible to have 2 different versions of VLC running on the same computer? Can I simply unzip an older version into a different directory? Will the preference be shared between th...

Re: no audio from asf file

You are correct. Nobody is interested on WMV/WMA stuff. Haha I ... KNEW it  Truth be told, I just haven't seen others complained about this same issue. There are other things that are problematic with the DMO, but appeared unrelated in this layman's eyes. This is actually the first time I saw ...

Re: No video, but sound!

I would like to add that on some occasions and reasons unrelated to VLC, the Gamma , Contrast , Saturation , and Brightness of the video card's overlay layer may all be set to 0, giving the impression that video output is missing. If your video card support adjustments of more than one of these valu...

Re: HELP! Audio output is starving, playing silence

With --verbose=2, the short answer is yes. The long answer is - I spent some time matching the output of --verbose=2 to --verbose=1, and this is what I found ... First the --verbose=1 output: access_mms info: selecting stream[0x1] audio (21 kb/s) access_mms info: selecting stream[0x2] video (181 kb/...

Re: HELP! Audio output is starving, playing silence

Here is one of many feeds that's been giving me the audio grief. mms://media2.bloomberg.com/btv_US200.asf At the moment, if I want the audio to play, I'd have to re-initiate the audio after the video starts - first disable the audio track, then re-enable the audio. The trick works every time, but ha...

Re: No more sound on few wmv with vlc 1.0

It appears to be a known bug scrolling through the forum.

For now though, you may be able to get around it in 1.0.0 by disabling the audio after the video started, then enabling the audio again right after. Often that will let the audio play again.

Re: Stream recording loses audio

I don't know if it was mentioned before, but there is a way to get around the lost audio problem in 1.0.0 - just disable the audio after the stream started (or .wmv in some cases) then reenable it again. In many lost audio incidents, do that and the audio will play as usual.
