Kindle 5th Gen

My apologies for posting with a specific OS here, but didn't find topic for Fire OS. If I need to be redirected please let me know where to go. I recently purchased 2 Kindle Fire 5th Gen and having trouble with VLC with DVD format videos. These are videos that I have copied to the optional micro SD....

Re: Movie folders

Well, not one to give up, I found the solution to my problem. I had the Video-TS as a sub-folder. Once the vob files were moved to the named movie folder VLC did its thing and recognized all the movies.

Hope this is of help to someone else.

Movie folders

I have several movies on my S4 running Lollipop. My problem is that VLC does not recognize the folders, but just produces a list of all the files. That is OK for those in avi, mp4, or mkv format, but doesn't work for those is dvd vob format. With the later, there is just a list of all the vob files ...

Re: Playlist disappears

Maybe I am expecting something that is not there. I have never used the Playlist before, so perhaps what I see in the Android version isn't in Windows 8.1. When I open VLC in Android I get a clip representing the movie with the name below it. Maybe this really isn't a playlist but a directory of the...

Re: Playlist disappears

I must be doing something wrong here. I Open Playlist from the View menu, open file explorer and drag the movie files to the Playlist window, go to the main VLC window and select save to file, named it My Movies, close VLC, reopen, list is gone.

Am I missing a step somewhere?

Playlist disappears

I have read several posts regarding the Playlist feature and some of its issues. Mine seems to be a bit different. I can create a video playlist and it works fine. That is until I close VLC. Once closed and reopened, the list is gone. Didn't find a save button or the like. Version 2.1.5 Windows 8.1 ...

VLC and PCTools Internet Security Crash System

Tried fo a couple of hours to get the new version of VLC Player from VideoLAN to run without totally locking up my system. I tried different versions and no luck. Then I realized I had uninstalled an older version just before I upgraded to PCTools Internet Security. VLC appeared to install when in r...

Re: NO Auto Start DVD

I understand your answer. If I insert a DVD is VLC designed to automatically start the movie? Or do I have to open the folder each time even though VOB files are associated with VLC? MP3 are associated with VLC and the discs don't autostart either.

NO Auto Start DVD

Installed new version, all file associations, but the app will not start a DVD movie. I have checked properties for VOB and association is for VLC. If I open the disc via VLC it plays fine.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
