I am having same issue with streaming video http stream. I have played with the buffer settings etc. but no change. It seems that as soon as it runs out of the initial buffered content, it doesnt' go much further. Version 0.99 works fine but 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 have this issue.

Quick Correction - I am launching VLC through a shell script, which is called from another application. If the shell script doesn't have focus, VLC video doesn't have focus, if the shell script has focus, VLC will have focus. This is irrespective of whether I use video-on-top or not.

I am running firefox in kiosk mode and launching a vlc video through a script. However the video goes in the background and does not stay on top even after using --video-on-top.

I am running xfce window manager and vlc 0.9.9. Can anyone tell me how I could fix this ?
