I don't know how, but I think this entire topic should be moved to a general bugs-sections, since the reports came in from both Windows and Mac users.

Problem still exists in VLC 1.0.0 on Mac OS X.

Hi, I'm experiencing the exact same problem as descibed in the first post of this thread. However, I'm on a Mac (Mac OS X 10.5.7 and VLC 0.9.9a Grishenko (Intel)), so this problem might not be Windows-specific.
