Re: Control Bar width in Fullscreen mode

Is there a way to increase the width of the control bar (where the seek bar and play controls are located) in fullscreen mode?
Not in current builds. Might change in upcoming builds.
"Might" change?? are you kidding me? I can't believe this wasn't an initial feature!

Control Bar width in Fullscreen mode

Is there a way to increase the width of the control bar (where the seek bar and play controls are located) in fullscreen mode? Right now it's pretty thin and makes seeking through long videos difficult and imprecise.

Re: Blocky/pixelated playback in Windows 7

At least NVIDIA doesn't give info how to do that. Pixelation should also vanish if you use DirectX video output, but that disables Aero.
I know they don't document that, otherwise I wouldn't be posting here :)

Any idea how to do it, though?

Re: Blocky/pixelated playback in Windows 7

Sorry to revive a somewhat old thread, but I have a question to add onto this so people coming from Google search results can have more information (This thread shows up at the top of the search results). How do I force the NVIDIA installer to use Vista drivers instead of the W7 drivers? Note that I...

Re: How to improve quality of video

Well just from looking at the video output with my on eyes, this looks like an obvious case of no filtering be applied to scaled video images. There are some filters that can be applied to it that will blend the pixels smoothly so the image doesn't look "blocky", so to speak. If VLC isn't ...

Re: How to improve quality of video

VLC can't use any external codecs or filters. So KLite doesn't matter to VLC. If you want better quality you can try FFDshow with some DirectShow player like Media Player Classic and adjust FFDshow pot processing settings (there should multiple guides for this via Google). So you're basically telli...

How to improve quality of video

Hi, I'm new to VLC media player, so I do apologize if my question is simple and has already been covered already. I did some google searching before I posted to make sure I wasn't missing any obvious documentation. When I watch an AVI file, I normally set VLC to fullscreen. When I do this, and when ...

Re: Making picture quality better when scaled

OK, apologies for my bad saying "file" rather than "media" menu Yes, we are talking about the same program. However...You are in the"Serving Streams" / "VLC stream-output (sout)" forum!!!! So I expected you to be posing a streaming related question. I think y...

Re: Making picture quality better when scaled

I didn't say go to... The stream output window ( you are streaming are you not???) is the second window you will encounter when you have selected streaming from the file menu. It is the window where you will enter what type of stream output you require. The prev post refers to this window Are you k...

Re: Making picture quality better when scaled

Sorry but you're still not being specific enough. You said to go to "Stream Output" and did not mention where that was, so I fumbled around and found it in Preferences >> Stream output (on the left, with advanced view). However, on this window I do not have a "generated stream output ...

Re: Making picture quality better when scaled

I seem to get a better quality (larger) picture by setting the "scale=" value (eg set to 2 rather than the default of 1) in the output string to a higher figure.
It may help.
Would you mind being a bit more specific about where this option exists? Specific directions would be ideal.

Re: Making picture quality better when scaled

This is a bug on Win7, probably due to the video drivers.
Sorry to say that this also happened on Windows XP x64 as well. I can't remember if this happened on Windows XP 32-bit.

Omitting any blame on Microsoft for this problem, is there anything I can try in the meantime?
