Thanks whoever fixed this. I tested about 300 FLV files in VLC 1.0.1, using the time slider to jump to about half way through each one. No seeking problems with any of them. All in all, it seems extremely stable.
Yes, this bug is known now, and we will find a workaround for 1.0.1 That's good to know! I wasn't convinced when I posted this that it would be a common enough problem to get fixed. The bug flummoxed so many of my files I had to go back to 0.9.9, but I'm glad I'll eventually be able to upgrade agai...
Maybe (and this is a mere guess) the files are too high a resolution for your computer to decode all that video data in real time, so you only get some frames. My four year-old PC can't play "HD" video either (at least not smoothly, although it gets most frames). Try testing something rec...

Trying to seek through them results in one of three things happening: (1) it jumps to a random (but consistent) place, (2) it stops play...
I've lots of samples. I found the instructions on the wiki to upload a sample to your FTP server but when I tried to put it in incoming it disappeared. If it's in there somewhere, the filename is HIGNFY S25E02 - Part 1.flv.
Hi. VLC exhibits some odd problems when playing video files that have an odd size (e.g., 320x239) in some codecs. With the DirectX output module, it overlays a centered vertical band of flickering yellow and purple garbage on top of the video. I don't think it's decoding wrong, because the garbage i...
