check the videos resolotion u can take a small resolution make it huge it look bad but u can also take a huge resolution n make it small will also look bad lol

you seem to have the ram and the cpu power to do it but the only thing i could think of is thate your computer when it decoded's the media is droping part to OC Ram that would exsplain the random drop out because the ram holds the file if it OC i would recomend turning it off and going from their. Okie! real simple i downloaded some anime and the subs were left as external video files zipped u can exstract the subtitle files no problem but i do not know how to open the subtitles with vlc while playing the movie The first person that says you goto video then subtitles track n choose one im gun...

with a 2200+ u should have enuf what ur process useage looking like when u try and play
