Does VLC support VAST (Video Ad Serving Template)?

Does anyone know if VLC support the Digital Video Ad Serving Template (VAST) 2.0 technology? http://www.iab.net/vast
If not, are there any plans in the (distant) future to incorporate this into VLC's development?

Mozilla plugin consumes X connections

I am running 1.1.4 in Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu. I've noticed that VLC gradually consumes connections to the X server to a point where X refuses any more connections and VLC cannot run properly. This is solved only when Firefox is closed. It seems that when VLC is unloaded from a web page (ie, the us...

Video choppy since 1.1.4

I am running VLC on a netbook-type device (Intel Atom N270, 1GB RAM, Intel 945GME, Ubuntu). Since compiling 1.1.4 my video playback has become choppy and unwatchable. If I downgrade to 1.1.2 then everything is fine and smooth. Looking at the debug output I can see that 1.1.4 is generating a lot of t...

Re: 1.1.1 - Aspect Ratio bug with Mozilla plugin and DVB-T

Hi erwan10. I'm using it on Linux that's right. I noticed that you've submitted a patch to the Trac bug above. I've tried this on my system and it seems to have done the trick! There is an error that gets logged "Failed to resize window", but I presume that is the desired result. Thank you...

Re: 1.1.1 - Aspect Ratio bug with Mozilla plugin and DVB-T

Ok, so obviously I'm posting this bug in the wrong place. Either that or nobody is concerned that the 1.1 branch has a huge problem with the Mozilla plugin. Can someone please direct me to the correct place for reporting this bug?

1.1.1 - Aspect Ratio bug with Mozilla plugin and DVB-T

I am using VLC as a plugin for Firefox and tuning into TV broadcasts using UDP. I have recently upgraded to version 1.1.1 and I am now getting a problem when the TV aspect ratio changes. If I am receiving a 4:3 broadcast then the picture is nicely centred on the screen and looks great. The broadcast...

Re: VLC media player 1.1 crashes when watching IPTV udp prot

I had a similar problem when I was using 1.0.2 and I solved it by using FFMPEG instead of libmpeg. You can do this by adding 'codec=ffmpeg' as a parameter.

Re: Streaming VOD using RTSP - cannot seek

Just to add a bit more info. When a stream is being received by the client, the telnet show command looks like this: show media : ( 0 broadcast - 2 vod ) ij_trailer type : vod enabled : yes mux : (null) inputs 1 : /movies/trailers/THE_ITALIAN_JOB_TRLR.mpg output : options instances ij type : vod ena...

Streaming VOD using RTSP - cannot seek

I am trying to stream a file using the VLM interface on a server and VLC on my desktop. I can successfully attach to the stream and play it, but I cannot seek. I get the following errors on the VLC client: [0xb7500c30] main input error: INPUT_CONTROL_SET_POSITION(_OFFSET) 9.7% failed [0xb7506560] li...

Re: Deinterlace from command line not working

strange. What about "--video-filter=deinterlace"? That's working now, thanks. Although, am I correct in thinking that this forces the deinterlace mode to blend? It's the mode that I want anyway, but I just wondered if we've now lost the ability to set "--deinterlace-mode=something&qu...

Deinterlace from command line not working

Since version 1.0.0 I have not been able to deinterlace UDP streams from the command line. This is the kind of thing I would normally type: vlc udp://@239.192.2.30:5000 --vout-filter=deinterlace --deinterlace-mode=blend In version 0.9.9 this would work without a problem. However, now the stream stil...

DVB Subtitles: Delay when turning on

When watching Astra DVB-S streams in VLC, I often turn on the DVB Subtitles track. However the subtitles often take around 5 seconds before they actually appear on screen.

Is there anyway to configure this delay?

PS: I don't mind recompiling if the setting is in the source code.

Re: Is there a way to unload/free a VLC plugin dynamically?

Did you ever find an answer to this, vice? I too would like to know if it is possible to unload the VLC plugin in Mozilla. Looking through revolunet's cleanup code in VLCobjects I can see that it is IE specific.

Have you managed to get something similar working under Mozilla Firefox?
