Re: Viewing Subtitles/Closed Captioning crashes VL1 RC4

Nope, that didn't work. What was interesting was I was watching a TV commercial with no captioning and VLC was working fine. Until the moment the show came back on and captioning started, VLC crashed.

Re: Viewing Subtitles/Closed Captioning crashes VL1 RC4

Yes, VideoLan crashes about two seconds after I turn on captions. The video first freezes and sometimes becomes pixelated before crashing. This is on an Apple computer, so assuming if you are using Windows, this may be somewhat different. Let me know what I can do to help with troubleshooting - if y...

Re: Viewing Subtitles/Closed Captioning crashes VL1 RC4

Thanks for the instructions. I've uploaded the file (vlc-captioning-broken.ts) as well as filed a bug report with VLC when I restarted the application again.

Viewing Subtitles/Closed Captioning crashes VL1 RC4

Whenever I enable Closed Captioning (Subtitle, Closed Captioning 1) on an Apple computer, the VideoLAN client crashes. I have been able to replicate this three times.

Re: Enabling captioning

After investigating into the problem, I identified the issue is due to the fact I'm using an Apple client with Safari plug-in (version 0.8.6i) because there isn't a newer Web Browser plugin. Apple 0.8.6i plugin has captioning support disabled! Captioning (Subtitles) works with Windows, so I'll be di...

Enabling captioning

Greetings! I am attempting to embed VideoLAN in a web page and I am running into two issues with closed captioning (or subtitles) from a video stream. The first question is how I can enable captioning when someone views the video stream by default, and the second question is how I can disable/enable...
