FWIW my configuration includes the default setting of "Accelerated Video Output (Overlay)" as found under Preferences / Video and also checking "Use GPU acceleration (experimental)" under Preferences / "Input / Codecs". Is this as others are doing?

Yes that is the sort of improvement I am also getting, seems its only partially working because mythtv vdpau achieves much lower CPU % for the same files. e.g. one H264 1080i clip wouldn't play smoothly with VLC before VAAPI, now plays with recent versions but ~80-90% CPU but seems much of a way to ...

I'm trying to get this working on mythbuntu 10:04, have upgraded to VLC 1.1.2 and installed ffmpeg 0.6. I'm still not getting vdpau CPU use figures yet (H264 1080i test files). Hi I've been playing around with the http interface. The default setup works very well. I note there are mute and speaker icons, which are not implemented, there is no quit icon. Its not hard to add these in, however as best I can tell the commands for these are not there? How can I enable that func...
