Re: Hardware Acceleration w/o Taskbar

why is the hardware acceleration disabled, when the preview thingy fails?
This has nothing to do with preview.

If idirect3d9_createdevice fails, you have no acceleration, which is expected.

ok. why fails idirect3d9_createdevice, if the shell has no taskbar...?

Hardware Acceleration w/o Taskbar

Hi all, I have a very specific problem here. We use Windows embedded standard 7 (WES7) with a custom shell. This means, that we don't have a Taskbar. Without the taskbar, VLC seems to not use hardware acceleration. VLC logs, that idirect3d9_createdevice (or so) failed. if I enable the taskbar, what ...

Re: how to get sar (stream aspect ratio) of current stream?

The last time i had such a stream (a tv stream from my provider), it was working. Now the stream has changed and has always a 16/9 ratio, so i can't check again. Maybe it's broken in 1.0.1 .... i have tried now with different versions (0.9.8a, 1.0.0, 1.0.1) and no one gave me a aspect ratio... I ge...

Re: how to get sar (stream aspect ratio) of current stream?

I have tried this. The problem is, that I have a continous stream. The stream occasionally changes video size and aspect ratio, but vlc doesn't recognize it. if i reconnect to the stream, the video size is reported correctly. if i periodically check the video size, it's always the same. what i mean ...

yes, it plays the stream, but displays the mrl as channel name and ignores the options. using vlcplayer.playlist.add("c:/test.mpg", "my test movie", "some more options"); looks like the same as using vlcplayer.playlist.add("c:/test.mpg"); w/o name and options....
