Re: Tray Icon Menu Order

So, if it read it right, you see VLC as, primarily, a Linux product, and those of use using Windows or some other platform should just live with it. I get it. Thanks.

Re: Tray Icon Menu Order

Huh? I don't fully understand what you're positing as a reason. (Are you suggesting that a right-click on the "tray icon" causes the menu pops up with some default cursor position nearer the top by default?) And, aren't there ANY differences between Linux and Windows versions, to be consis...

Re: VLC 1.1.0 (Released) Problems

1. I don't hear any problems. (message log is flooded) The problem occurs on three different computers I've tried, albeit all within my local area. And, I have no idea what "message log is flooded" means in this context. 2. I am guessing the QT4 option is overriding this. Could be, but th...

Tray Icon Menu Order

For me, the most-used items in the right-click context menu for the VLC icon in the Notification Area/System Tray, are in the most inconvenient spot. It's a philosophy question: Should the most-often-used be at the top of the list (say, as for typical application menus), or at the bottom (say, as wi...

VLC 1.1.0 (Released) Problems

1. One particular website (http://kqed-ice.streamguys.org:80/kqedradio-ns-e1) has a momentary "stall" that lasts about 0.1 seconds every 5-10 seconds or so. The same streams heard through other players (e.g., Flash 10) don't exhibit this problem. Other common streams I listen to do NOT app...

Re: Getting VLC out of System Tray

Clearly, Mr. Kempf, you have been giving this same advice to several folks. I would really appreciate it if you would actually READ what I wrote and respond to that. Your suggestion of "--no-qt-system-tray" removes the icon from the System Tray, doesn't it? That is expressly what I DO NOT ...

Getting VLC out of System Tray

I love VLC. I listen to radio and CDs all day long with VLC. I am very frustrated with VLC's GUI. The issues are around the "Hide VLC media play in taskbar," which the developers seem to have not fully thought through. Furthermore, several threads here have tried to raise issues with seem ...

Re: Playlist With Track Selection?

Thanks for that. I couldn't find it either. Am I to assume that with --no-random on the command line, the first item in the list should always be the stream played first? (That gives me a way to choose the preferred stream, by re-ordering the Playlist.) Separate issue: Is there any chance that Help ...

Playlist With Track Selection?

I can launch VLC 1.0.2 on WinXP Pro SP3 with a playlist with vlc.exe --open "<path>\<name>.xspf" , but that's been trial-and-error, since the command-line documentation is so (to be kind, I'll say) "sparse." What I want to do is select a specific entry (either by name or by index...

Unable to Post Bug Reports

[ticket]The entire TRAC system is apparently down, and its' Certificate is not valid. So, here's my bug report (or at least, the first 60,000 characters, since that's the forum limit...and I couldn't find any way to attach a file; I'll keep the file for a few days, in case someone would like to requ...

Re: Save playlist using relative path (My Wishlist)

Before I propose improvements, I want to report that VLC 0.9.9 is my preferred means for listening to Internet Radio. It is the highest-quality product for that purpose. Other options have their own flaws: RealPlayer can't maintain a reliable connection (due to it's buffering bugs) more than about a...
