DVD menu problem when using vlc 0.82

We are trying to both play a DVD locally (with menus) and stream that DVD at the same time. We are using the following commands: dvd://D: --sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,url=228.1.1.1:1234}} This works fine on some DVD's but not on others. Multi Nova-T DVB-T tuner card support

We would like to build a Debian 2.6.x server with 4 Nova-T DVB cards for streaming live TV. Could someone who has experience of getting Nova-T cards working under Debian/VLC please explain what we need to do to get this configuration working.
