Audio stops mid way through DVD when streaming

With VLC 1.0.5 I can play the DVD. When streaming the audio stops mid chapter 11 which is almost exactly in the middle of the DVD. Some of the video encoders will also freeze at the same point. Scroll also hiccups at the same point. Any ideas on how to configure stream to get past the middle of the ...

Re: DVDs don't play anymore

Yes I removed the %appdata%\dvdcss folder as recommended from a previous post. In my case there appears to be a dependency on an external CODEC. Videolan experts will have to answer whether that is expected. Windows Media player told me I needed to install a CODEC. This thread may be different from ...

I am getting the same error on a new Vista PC using the latest general release build.

I haven't tried the daily builds yet.

H.264 Videolan 1.0.1 resize/scaling

Disclaimer I hope this is user error. Height/Width doesn't seem to work I have been trying unsuccessfully with various versions including 1.0.1 to come up with a way to change the size of a video while streaming or converting to h.264. I noticed a defect in bug paradise that may be related but not ...

Re: wireless streaming

Questions and Assumptions What is your definition of DVD quality? By definition: Re-sampling the image with any product will reduce the quality. What degradation of network performance are you willing to tolerate? I assume you want the PCs to watch the same feed with no ability for anybody to pause...

Re: No file created during conversion

Turn messages on by going to view -> messages if you haven't done that already. Depending on the level you specify you should get a bunch of messages that may give you a clue about which parameter is wrong. An error can suppress file generation.

Re: Can I used VLC to change the aspect ratio?

Disclaimer: I could be wrong, so please be advised. I have been looking for this feature in the documentation and forums without success. The VLC design team is doing a great job so hopefully they can give us some positive news. In my case, I want to stretch/distort the image to fit the display (in...

Re: Getting a dvd video onto a IPOD

You might want to start by looking at this article: http://wiki.videolan.org/IPod You may find the Apple designed complexities a bit interesting. You need to down-sample your video to a size that the iPod accepts (both audio and video). The aforementioned article gives you some ideas about the Apple...

Re: Extra audio channel (bug?) / iPod touch

That is a good catch. The DVD has 14 streams: 8 Codec SPU 2 Codec mpgv 4 Codec a52 (2 English; 2 Spanish) The conversion appears to be throwing out the data but not the track. My current theory is that this extra track is causing the iPod to reject the h246 encoded file. If that is the problem is th...

Extra audio channel (bug?) / iPod touch

I believe I have found a bug but want to validate before posting. The problem is related to 0.8.6, 0.9 and the nightly builds. Proposed defect After converting, QuickTime tells me there are two audio tracks (via the Window -> Show Movie Properties menu). One is N/A and the other has my content. Sinc...

Source (GIT or SVN)?

I am seeing conflicting data about where the source is located.
  • Is the source in GIT or SVN?
  • Are we migrating to GIT? If so, what SVN directories have been migrated?
  • Should we update the website and some of the supporting links?
Do you need some help changing the website?
