Update: with AAC i got no audio output at all...

That is exactly what i do.. The only problem is that my amplifier see the stream as a multichannel only if it is ac3...
Vlc by now with it's configuration and codecs is shooting out an aac strem with 6 channels asa a pcm with 2 channels

I have a reciever (an amplifier) which is able to decode Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic. I got AAC encoded audio (streams in a video file) with 6 channels but my amplifier is simply decoding it as a 2 channels stream (of course, it doesn't have the decoder inside). Deleted all the cache and configs, unmasked v 1.0.0_pre2 from the tree and installed it.
Play with the preferences: mouse gesture etc..
