As fas as I know there is no way of getting IE to quit downloading a certain file type and then use another program to download that file (which would be VLC in yor case) The exception is for the file types known by WMP such as MP3, WMV where IE insists on using Win...

Using mozilla plugin with other browsers (opera)

Is the mozilla plugin meant to be useable with other browsers? I have tried it in Opera, and it plays back video and audio if the url is passed in the <embed> element, and AutoStart is enabled, so the plugin is obviously installed, but the problem is that none of the controls actually work -- a butt...
