two solution from my experience. either switch off overlays and RGB->YUB conversion(software rendering), or use version older than 0.7.0(ie 0.6.2)

if you download the full vobsub utilities you get demuxer(that is the name of the utility). use it to extract the subtitles whatever form it is in, and try loading them through the extracted file.

vobsub stuff here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video ... vobsub.cfm

you might try extracting the subs using a demux-er and simply load the subs externly(which can be done). i cant think of another solution(possibly try 0.6.2 version of VLC).

for me changing overlays is the only thing that affects it. you can still try video buffer settings, they are located in Modules->video output->vout_directx oh if you want to use overlays(and quite possibly play dvds) then use version 0.6.2, because overlays work for me in that version. BTW post you...

well if the stream only has 2 channels, then you may need to emulate them with a seperate program. if it is a 5.1 soundtrack, then try checking the use SPDIF if availible(if you use SPDIF) or switching audio devices in the audio menu.

possibly update your video drivers as a first step. also try changing the "use video buffers in physical memory". then try disabling overlays(if colors are wrong disable RGB->YUV). gl

try disabling overlays, and if colors are wrong, also disable RGB->YUV conversion.

color problem is most likely due to hardare RGB->YUV conversion. if overlays ever are fixed, this problem will becomes fixed(atleast for me).

either revert to version 0.6.2, or turn off overlays. That being said, without overlays it will revert to software rendering.

Ive posted this problem before with no resolution.

Issues with 0.7.*

I have found several major bugs that have arisen between version 0.6.2 and all 0.7 versions. The issues are: Overlays no longer work Hardware RGB->YUV Conversion causes color distortion Subtitles cause CPU usage to sky-rocket(seems to be because of anti-aliasing, but I can't find a place to change i...
