I think AAC is a quicktime audio format, which AFAIK isn't supported in linux (but is fine in Windows XP and OSX if you have quicktime installed).

Not positive, but this is what I would think.

I've just finished research and testing for something almost exactly the same as this (but 5 screens). I made one very LARGE video and used the video wall plugin to split it for each screen, works very well. You get the odd frame drop (depending on the speed of your LAN and machines I suppose could ...

It's not a fixed rate AFAIK. I streamed a 17,000 kbit stream last week via MPEG4, and I know I have streamed higher data rates than that with mpeg2.

Am I dreaming? or do you think this might be possible .... the idea is to stream out a single (large) stream and let the video wall plugin pull it apart at client machines ... I'd be looking at trying to get 5-6MBps per client x 5 clients... format is still in question, but it might be something lik...
