Ok, I got it working back with the suggestion of "sudo vlc -l qt" but my other problem is that i can't copy the skins files to the skins2 folder looks like i'm not the owner of the folder and don't have permission to change anything there. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 and Vlc 0.9.4 Any suggestion...
