should I try to download it again from youtube or is it something else i can try to fix.

Arite. gee thanks. your instructions helped a lot. i printed off the instructions also. i was able to select my media, .flv file, set parameters in stream window to a wma media. i did get a file created but it had an extension .ps. at first it would not open for me, then i tried open with windows me...

I downloaded vlc 0.9.08a and have used it only as a viewer. But I recently read that a conversion or stream option is available included with program. On-line I read where it describes about how to use vlc converting, there are picture inserts of what the screen should look like. mine does not look ...
