Re: 2.1.2 plays out of tune, too

Just some lines to inform that the problem persists with 2.1.3. I'm afraid that from now on I will have to play mp3 with another player (other audio and video files don't have this problem, luckily).

2.1.2 plays out of tune, too

OK, I have this video as an mp3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB0erpFJUhw I just played it in 2.1.2., and for some seconds it played out of tune. The message VLC showed was: main warning: playback too early (-44077): down-sampling It's the only message it showed, but it's similar to other mp3's th...

Re: VLC 2.1.1 Issues

My 2.1.1. sounds out of tune when playing music, usually mp3. (I don't know what information I should provide for this problem, so sorry for being so brief.)

2.0.4. has trouble with Moyea-edited videos

Hi there I have several videos in FLV format that I have edited with Moyea FLV Editor Lite 1.1.1.835; to be specific, I cut the parts that don't interest me. I use a different video player to see them, but today I tried VLC 2.0.4. and some things happened. The player shows glitches and in some video...

Re: 1.1.8 will not play MKV

@Votarpo - I can't seem to find 'Demuxers' anywhere in the preferences menu. Can you Specify?
I think you have to select "all" in the Settings menu to find the Demuxers section.

Re: 1.1.8 will not play MKV

I have played the file again but this time using GOM Player. It is played but the video and the audio are out of sync. Maybe it is just the file that is corrupt? That it became corrupt when they converted it to MKV?

Re: 1.1.8 will not play MKV

What do we do then? Shall we try this? VLC hangs when opening Matroska (mkv) files * This might occur when using VLC to view an mkv file in a directory that has a large number of mkv files. (eg. in an Azureus download directory) VLC will attempt to preload all the mkv files in the directory and will...

OK, I am posting the link I downloaded. It's just 52 MB, so I guess it counts as a short sample.

May I post the link where I found the MKV then? Or would that be against the forum rules for copyright reasons?

Re: 1.1.8 will not play MKV

If you open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2), and start playback of MKV file, does the message log complain something?
I set Verbosity to that level but the message log shows nothing. VLC does not play the MKV file at all and the Task Manager says it's using a 98% of CPU.

1.1.8 will not play MKV

I went back from Vista to XP some time ago, and I have noticed that my 1.1.8 no longer plays MKV, not at all. In fact, I have shut VLC down with the Desk Manager. I looked for info about this in the forum website but I haven't found a satisfactory answer. Any help from up there? :)

VLC will not play video in a DCR file

I have just downloaded a videogame in DCR format (that is, Adobe Shockwave Media File). I opened it with 1.1.5 but only audio is heard. What can I do to make it play both video and audio? I'm using XP Professional. Thanks!

The last second is not played in Vista Home Premium and with FLV files. It is an old, almost classic problem since prior versions had it, too.

Re: Video and audio problems in 1.1.0... and 1.1.1, too

What does Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) complain when jumps and pitch changes happen?
Nothing. It hasn't said a word since the problem began. By the way, I played again the aforementioned AVI with VLC and this time there were no jumps or pitch changes.

Re: Video and audio problems in 1.1.0... and 1.1.1, too

Alright, another important discovery: this video and audio problem also happens with large video files such as AVIs; I opened one with 1.1.1. and the file "jumped" and changed pitch. Therefore the problem must lie in VLC itself.

Re: Video and audio problems in 1.1.0... and 1.1.1, too

Maybe they reencoded it.
What is that exactly?

On the other hand, I have just confirmed that the pitch problem only happens with VLC; I played a FLV with GOM Player and the sound was alright. Therefore it is not clear if the problem lies in the quality of the file, or in VLC, or in both.

Re: Video and audio problems in 1.1.0... and 1.1.1, too

Now I only have that problem with audio, but I'll let you know if downloading again is the solution. I quote myself to answer myself: yes, the video file must be downloaded again. I opened an FLV that was 2 years old and the music changed pitch in an irritating way. I downloaded it again and the pr...

And the FLV I created:

About the audio, I will have to wait for some FLV to start "jumping", so I'll let you know.

Video and audio problems in 1.1.0... and 1.1.1, too

Hi there Some time after updating to 1.1.0, I noticed two strange things happened. The first one was that some FLVs showed like this: http://i47.tinypic.com/301q3uq.jpg Here is how it should be seen: http://i45.tinypic.com/8z1kpv.jpg This problem remains in 1.1.1. The second problem was that sometim...
