it should be possible to activate/deactivate the file associations of VLC in an optionsmenu and not only in the installer.

- option to move playbutton toolbar to the bottom

- add a new button "Extended GUI" to the the playlist toolbar

- if the Extended GUI is activated, there should be a checkbox in the menu "Extened GUI"

- add Videofilefilter to the Open Dialog

I just have made a test and had compress all DLL's and EXE of VideoLAN with UPX.

The startup speed of the program has been increased from 3 sec to under 1 second. Can anyone confirm this experience?

i think compressing all exe and dll's from VLC would be a good idea. Current version od VLC needs about 27MB. If you use UPX cou can dramatically reduce the HD space.

VLC 0.71 can't remember, if the "advanced options" checkbox was activated or not. If I have activated last time, it forget the setting next time I start VLC
