I discovered the settings that makes VLC work for me with subtitles, even better than other players.
Just select the font Arial Black - C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\arialbi.ttf - and voilá! Auto-resize according to the resolution is an awesome feature

Always center VLC and an option to select whether you can exit full screen after playback

I've been browsing the forum for this answer but couldn't find it.

I've searched the options for hours, can't find this setting. Is there anyway to maintain fullscreen after the file reaches it's end?

That's the only reason i don't use vlc as my main player.
