I am working today with libvlc.dll 0.9.9 version and if i want to record the displayed stream, i can do it only from the beggining (when the user press PLAY). I know that new versions of VLC give the option saving a stream to a file at any point of time. Is there a way to do so with new versions of ...

I don't understand, do you mean that you'll open a feature request?
What do you mean by saying 'test stream'?

Thanks.

Re: Decoding without I-Frames

The problem: 1. I have an encoder that use RTSP/RTP H.264 in multicast profile. 2. Along the way you have narrow band network. 3. One VLC client request the stream and see the video. 4. The second client join in the middle of the stream. 5. The encoder uses P & B Frames, I-Frame is high cost for...

Decoding without I-Frames

Hi,
There are some players that enable H.264 video stream with no I-Frames at all.
At start, the video indeed seems not good, but it getting better after couple of minutes.
I think VLC is blocking stream untill the first I-Frame.

RTSP SET method

Hi,
It will be great if libvlc.dll would enable to send RTSP 'SET' command to server.
I know that in RFC is written that there is no specification for that,
but if the SET function will give char* parameter then the server will have to deal with it.

Thanks,
Tamir.

2.5 seconds delay over LAN

Hi all, I have a problem: My setup is: Hardware encoder streaming RTSP/RTP H.264 over the LAN to a PC with VLC 0.9.9. I have 2.5 seconds delay at the target PC. At the initOptions i've inserted RTSP-Chaching=1200ms, underneath that there performance problems. What can i do? Is there a way to configu...

You are using VLC as server?
Maybe you have to check the GOP size (I-frames) at the sender?
