Re: Command Line: Play DVD-Folder from HD, starting chapter

Thanks! Now it works.

Don't know why they need three / but now I was able to solve also the 1:3-Problem: Use the VLC-GUI to see which Title and Chapter you need (e.g. Title 4, Chapter 3 = 4:3), since the main movie is not always Title 1.

Command Line: Play DVD-Folder from HD, starting chapter 3

Hello

There exists

Code: Select all

% vlc dvd://[device][@raw_device][@[title][:[chapter][:angle]]]
But I'm not able to start e.g. chapter 3 from "D:\Folders\Test-DVD"

What is the correct syntax?

Thanks!

Re: Windows 8: PC goes to sleep after 30'

Because of the VLC 2.0.0 sleep/standby issue I checked also VLC 1.0.3 and 1.1.4. Both will sleep without admin rights, so this is really a Win8-Issue, not VLC 2.x The need to start VLC with admin rights creates additional trouble: - to start VLC from Excel-VBA, Excel has to run with admin rights too...

Re: Windows 8: PC goes to sleep after 30'

Solution : Start VLC with administrator rights. Reproduce : Set the energy settings to "screen off after 1 minute", "pc sleep after 2 minutes". Without administrator rights your screen will never go off, but your PC will sleep after 2-3 minutes. It seems that Win8 demands admini...

Hello Changing to Windows 8 I experience a new problem: After perhaps 30 Minutes the PC goes to sleep, even VLC plays a movie and the screen newer turned off. Re: No Full Screen GUI with some files

Thanks for the hint! Changing to DirectX solves this issue.

But then I have some V-Sync trouble again. Is there a way to force V-Sync with DirectX?

But now I see, this is not only with 2.0.x, but also 1.1.4 (not with v1.0.5)...

Thanks for having a look!

No Full Screen GUI with some files

Hello Since 2.0.0 I have a new problem: With some files the Full Screen GUI is not available. Means: It appears for 1/10 second and then disappears even if I move the mouse... I can drag and drop file B in the player and everything works fine. Drag and drop file A again (or double click) and the GUI...

Re: [How-to] Watch 3D movies (e.g. mkv half-SBS) in 2D

The best I found: 3D LR Wunschlisten-thread JMencodes - BoerseBZ The Thread is German, but almost all encodes are German/English. JMencodes collects almost everything and uploads it as SBS and L/R. You need a netload account for the older uploads, the never ones are also on share-online. (Never test...

Re: [How-to] Watch 3D movies (e.g. mkv half-SBS) in 2D

The best solution I found: Use left/right-Encodes! They are much better than half-SBS, since the downsize-algorithm loses much more than the half!

View Movie with external chapter file / bookmarks?

Hi Is there a way to play a movie and jump to different chapters or bookmarks without e.g. muxxing a chapter file into a matroska container? How to get correct aspect ratio?

Thanks for your command line parameters. Is there a way to get correct aspect ratio instead of the simply 16:9? The solution I found works only with VLC 1.0.5: --monitor-par=1000:1414 --vout-filter crop --crop-geometry 960 x9999+0+0 Use 960 for FullHD and change it for other Solutions. Regards, Bruno

command line: Audio Delay?

Hello

Is there really no command to set the Audio Delay e.g. to 600ms? I found only e.g. --sout-transcode-audio-sync but nothing to set the "audio delay" to a specific value.

Thanks!

Autosize: Which algorithm do you use for resize?

Hello There are a couple of algorithms. If you batch convert some photos with XnView you will realize, that only Lanczos does a really sharp job. Gauss/Hermite/Bi-linear/Square etc. will lose sharpness. Question: Which algorithm do you use for resize? E.g. when I watch a 1920-Movie on a 800x600 TFT ...
