hello. when i was using VLC in GNOME, it had (still does i think) something called gvfs - some kind of transparent layer which allows to operate on remote files as if they were local (it creates the hidden directory ~/.gvfs where it mounts the remote shares). in KDE (dolphin) i am able to view movie...

Hello. I am using VLC 1.1.7 and trying to view mkv file with external microdvd subtitles. The subtitle file is named exactly like the movie file. If the file extension is txt the subtitles do not show up. However whenever i change the extension to "srt" they do . It seems like it's a confi...

And the sound at the beginning of any video starts funny but plays ok after 20 or so seconds.
I noticed that when i changed the audio output from Default to UNIX OSS the problem with the sound was solved.

p.s. I'm also using fedora 10 ;) (64bit version)

Hi :) I was experiencing problems with segfault too, exactly as You describe it. Anyway, i was playing around with various options and when i disabled "Formatted subtitles" the problem was gone. I don't know if that's the exact setting name because i have a polish i18n :> anyways, first Yo...
