regedit -> delete the whole 'folder' HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-*-*-*-*\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts

The standalone divx player can show a video without the "windows stuff" (minimize, close, maximize buttons).

Another possibility would be fading out the 'windows bar' after a few seconds, like divx webplayer in windowed mode.

are there something like icon-packs for changing the standard icon for files (avi/mpg/...) from vlc?
Or any other way to do this fast without having to click through the windows extensions options dozens of times?

maybe you know the divx webplayer. It has a feature that makes the whole screen around the video black - so watching films, in there original size, that is not fullscreen, is more acceptable.
Does vlc als has a feature like this? Or is there some addon/plugin/whatever to implement this?
