Re: Subtitles on Vlc disappear while pausing...

hmm i only ever came across 3 anime;s that do this to me which makes me wonder is this a intermittant issue or just a specific type of encoding for the subtitles track.

is it possible to write a open with vlc extension for drives

from what i read on the wiki the vlc web interface is configurable from preferences>all>interfaces>main interfaces>HTTP. in the host address box i entered 0.0.0.0:4532 hoping that it would make the interface listen on port 4532. however when i clicked save preferences the web interface didn't change...

Re: a portable media player based on vlc firmware

Most likely not possible. Most portable media players only use hardware decoder chips for decoding. If they don't support format you need, there usually isn't anything you can do, since the regular CPU they use is WAY too slow for any video operations. than why not design a vlc media player custom ...

a portable media player based on vlc firmware

i have getting increasingly pissed off by the lack of portable dvd players that support mkv and some of the other less common video encoding methods that are primarily used for anime and forign media. i thing it would be a great idea to take a simple portable dvd player and write a vlc firmware for ...

Re: possible issues with processing filmgrain and static eff

i have encountered this problem again since last post since the filmgrain is not a seperate effect and part of the media file i think the issue may be related to the rapid switch of alternating pixels from black to white in a concentrated area. all i know is any time there i alot of static in a medi...

possible issues with decoding filmgrain and static

recently i downloaded a anime series that used alot of film grain effects as well as static and other intentional distortions of the video track generally used for dramatic effect. the file's video was formatted avc1 rate 23.9 1920x1080 the entire video ran normally but every time a filmgrain effect...

Re: preferred language settings (add track# and disabled fla

do not autoselect subtitle track option

there is an issue with vlc i have notice. there is no option to disable automatic track selection for subtitles. more and more often i am seeing the subtitle tracks encoded directly into the video files themselves and i am frequently seeing vlc automatically load whatever is listed as track one. vlc...

Re: auto skip unwanted parts of a video

i agree with you that this feature should be supported but the biggest issue with this is the fact that most people who encode films and tv shows will probibly not spend the time to make these files. in otherwords you would have to watch the ehtire thing your self and insert the times to skip manual...

dedicated frame by frame review mode.

there is one feature that i want to see in vlc and i am surprised that it doesn't seem to exist. there is no way to scroll frame by frame in a video file well there technically is but the selected frame will not always render properly while the video is paused. you can slow down the video and try to...

Re: preferred language settings (add track# and disabled fla

actually in the preferences there is an option for prefered languages and it is an empty text space where you can enter a string value. and if it works the way i think it does it matches what you wrote for prefered language against the file metadata and if the track contains the string it selects it...

preferred language settings (add track# and disabled flags)

the feature i am proposing is primarily for the anime community who often have to deal with files encoded with several audio and subtitle tracks. the other day i noticed that the preferred language and subtitle language options seem to rely totally on some kind of metadata embedded into the tracks. ...

sometimes the actual metadata title and the filename are different and it gets confusing when there is no column option to just see the darn filename this shouldn't be very hard to add and is quite usefull when metatada titles dont contain the eppisode numbers. frankly i am wondering why you added s...
