Uninstalled it and downloaded VLC again making sure that all the boxes were ticked. Still having the same problem. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. How do I do that. I never had to do this on downloading previous versions.

I have just downloaded the new version of the VLC player and it is not automatically downloading all files in VLC format as it was previously. Instead, it is downloading some files as AVIs or Windows Media Format. When I click to open these files, they open (not always successfully) in Windows Media...

Ended up deleting the lates install version and going back to an older version. So much for the updated version.......

I have just downloaded the new version and I cannot get it to be my default media player. I deleted the version that I had and downloaded again but still the same problem, Windows Media player still is the default player. Any ideas........
