The usual DVD "quality" problem is teleciné, which makes the video look like it's interlaced. Enable de-interlacing ("X" works fine) from the video menu. Thanks, enabling interlacing as "X" just like you said worked fine, thanks, i seemed to totaly skip that menu befor...

That's hard to say, but I got a few ideas: You should check wether accelerated playback and conversion from YUV to RGB is enabled. Yup, both are enabled. I haven't been able to find ANY thread or info on this, so if there a thread already, i apologize. When using VLC to watch DVD movies, i get a VERY poor quality.
