Re: VLC streaming and Blackmagic Intensity Pro

Hello, I have some technical knowledge but VLC goes a bit over my head. I have a Blackmagic Intensity Pro card and i would like to stream 720p (without encoding loses) to a VLC client' in LAN. I was able to do h264 but the result is really looking ugly, so I would like to see video RAW(?) and maybe...

Re: Using VLC to watch TV

Looks like a sticky bug. It seems that with dshow (analog TV tuner) function, most vout-filters or video-filters cann't be used, which often triggers the vlc to show nothing. However, with transcoding, these filters can be used before the video is actually encoded.

Any plan to duplicate/fix such bug?

Re: Using VLC to watch TV

BTW, I am a rookie who dun know how to submit bug reports.Maybe someone can do it for us. To duplicate this problem, just buy off-the-shelf either a pure-analog TV tuner card (PCI/USB) or hybrid tuner. Set deinterlace filter to have a certain algo (e.g., linear or bob), set VLC 's video filter to ha...

Re: Using VLC to watch TV

I have met the same bug up till current v1.1 version (since the first day I started playing with vlc 0.8 versions). Seems that the directshow (analog tv) function of vlc windows version has not been well maintained/tested, maybe due to the unavailability of tuners to the developers. But to me, the d...

Re: FR: Add support for Broadcom's Crystal HD Media Accelera

Do not seems difficult to do but need hardware and time for it. time, yes; hardware, may or may not be the case. If you guys dun have this piece of hardware, one best way I can think of to test is trying to work on directshow based engine using the K-lite codec pack instead of the vlc codecs... I a...

Re: FR: Add support for Broadcom's Crystal HD Media Accelera

I think the ultimate solution for MS Windows users is that our dear Videolan developer team fine-tuner their engine, allowing user switch to Directshow codec filters instead of VLC's built-in codecs. Directshow filters might not be more CPU efficient than VLC's own built-in couterpart, but they are...

Re: Capture card: WinTV-HVR 1300

I got similar problems, trying latest 0.9.6 and 0.9.8a, no audio, also with weird video color and a strip of noise on the right-hand side; no problem with DVB-T playback and streaming though. Also I can tune and playback Analog TV with other software such as a very old version of TotalMedia but I li...
