Found it; the movie contains keyframes and I can only skip to those. Is there a way to change the default 10sec skip or change it to 'skip to next keyframe'?

I'm having problems with mouse gestures, using 0.9.8a on Windows XP. Mouse gestures up/down change the volume, but left/right don't skip in the movie; the debug window says

gestures debug: right gesture (1)
gestures debug: Go forward in the movie!

but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

This sounds basic but I couldn't find an answer. Is there a way to make VLC not hide the video when I press stop (or when the video finishes)? It's quite annoying because also the controls move to some other place of the screen.
