Wondering if an Apple TV with the new VLC app will play a multicast UDP transport stream? I've never been able to do so in my work environment, because multicast isn't enabled or our wireless network. But an Apple TV on the wire could potentially replace a much more expensive set top box.

Is anyone working on an update for the VLC plugin for Mac?

I've got a couple of live IP streams I want to transcode to H264/AAC for multicast on our local LAN. I've got it running fine on a Mac, but when I try to do the same on Windows the H264 encode always fails.
