Subtitle Lost on Loop

Hello,
Is it possible to retain the currently selected subtitle on each video, when loop one/all is engaged?
I do understand VLC doesn't leave any footprint, could keep in memory until VLC is exited?
Thank you for consideration. Alternate ideas how to achieve welcome.
Kind regards.

Re: green screenshot

'DirectX (DXVA)' fixed it.
Thanks to kalixa for the pointer.
So glad to have found this post! Setting hardware-accelerated decoding to DirectX (DXVA) resolved green snapshots for me as well. Win10 Pro 21H2 64-bit and VLC Media Player 3.0.17.4 64-bit. Many Thanks to Orinoko for adding latest info.

Re: Windows touch screen support

You don't have a vertical graphic bar playing a video in fullscreen mode (gotten there by right clicking and choosing video->fullscreen)? I see it using touchscreen and using trackpad, but that's the only time it appears now. EDIT: It's just a graphic, not a bar I'm swiping up and down on using the ...

Re: Windows touch screen support

The four tests were for the touchscreen volume change (and I tried the trackpad too), sorry if that wasn't clear. I was able to get audio only into VLC fullscreen mode with your suggestion of F11, CTRL-H. Touchscreen is still non-op. Mousepad gesture works. Nothing showing on screen in either case. ...

Re: Windows touch screen support

Tried both methods for windows as listed under wiki (reset within VLC, delete files and directory in AppData, which is what I had done prior as well. Four tests above work the same.

We crossed, I was typing the above before I received your response to reset preferences. I will try the reset and then the four tests above, again.

Re: Windows touch screen support

BTW my version is 3.0.16 64-bit on Win10 Pro 21H2. I tried a few more things, and observe the following: 1. Video playing (any .mp4), I see words "volume xxx%" but no graphic bar in 'normal' and 'maximized' Win10 VLC windows. 2. Video playing (any .mp4), I see words "volume xxx%"...

I can control with touch screen or track pad, just don't see the graphic volume meter on the screen.

Windows touch screen support

I have a Surface Pro 3 running Win 10, it has a touch screen. I used to be able to drag one finger up and down the screen with VLC playing (or paused on) a video, and I could raise and lower the volume. On screen appeared a tall vertical volume meter (like a volume mixer) graphically showing the per...

Repeat until hh:mm:ss or Repeat x times?

Hello, Is there any way I can direct VLC media player to repeat the current video until a specified time (then VLC stops or exits), or repeat it X number of times (then stop or exit)? I have searched the forums and the wiki, but I missed finding... please point me to documentation or let me know any...

Re: Display System Time and Media Time Remaining on Full Scr

Hi JACOATS, No, I haven't got it working. I too really miss having duration, time remaining, etc. displayed in the marquee as was possible before. This information was very helpful and in a variety of circumstances. After more searching and reading here, I did find this enhancement request to bring ...

Re: Display System Time and Media Time Remaining on Full Scr

I tried installing a nightly build (3.0.0) VLC but I am still not able to get remaining time, duration, etc. to appear in the marquee. They just show up as literals ($L $D etc.). Could someone help me get the remaining time and duration of the media to display onscreen? If not via the marquee, is th...

Re: Display System Time and Media Time Remaining on Full Scr

OK so I am back again on my old thread. I have not had my marquee display since some 2.x version. I really miss having the duration $D and elapsed $T times shown on the marquee. Cursor hover on playlist item brings up info window

Hello, I have searched the forums quite a bit but don't know what to call this 'feature', so not sure if I missed finding an answer. If I did, please point me, thank you. When I have a playlist window open, and hover the mouse cursor over an item, a small window with a cone appears. Is there a way t...

Re: Marquee 'jumpy' - very distracting

Apologies for not filing the bug report. I'm now using 2.0.4 and still have the problem. I found existing bug report #6225 and added my comments to that one. The workaround tip there, to change the marquee timeout to 1 ms, has also stopped the flickering/jumping for me.

Kind regards,

Re: Volume - Reset to 100% ?

+1 for a quick reset to 100% And/or, double-click/ctrl-click/right double-click/something and type in the % volume. And/or, 'nudge' volume hotkeys that increment 1% at a time -- 'nudge' quickly to the target volume after getting fairly close with current hotkey increments and/or mouse-click. Just so...

Marquee 'jumpy' - very distracting

Am using VLC media player 2.0.1 on Win7 SP1 32-bit. Don't think this is OS specific but if it is, please move my thread to appropriate forum, thank you. I have been using the marquee for several VLC versions, to display the current system time, the elapsed play time and the total time of the media. ...
