Streaming RTSP **is** working ... but ...

I am RTSP serving .mp4 files from a USB Hardisk on one computer to a laptop. Both are Windows XP PRO, SP3. The good news is I have good streaming working. The "bad" news is I ended up not using VLC (0.9.8a) as either the server or the client! I tried to get RTSP going using VLC for both se...

Re: Can't access HTTP Interface

Got my problems solved and will post here to help others: The .hosts file that works for me is ultra simple: ::1 192.168.0.223 192.168.0.168 Where the first IP# is the "host" computer and the second is the "client" computer. I put the identical .hosts file in the ...\VLC\http and...

Re: Can't access HTTP Interface

OK, I've spent hours trying to get my .hosts files right. I had the HTTP control interface working between two computers on my local network at one time but can't remember how I did it. One question is: which .hosts file? The one in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\http\ or the one in C:\Program Files\...

Re: VideoLan.Interop a .Net libvlc 0.9.x wrapper

Is this going to support streaming eventually (or does it already support it and I'm just too dumb to see it)? I know when you setup streaming in the VLC Player you have to configure a bunch of things such as internet protocol, encapsulation, encoders, etc. I see streams in the object browser for vi...

Re: The "DennisL problem"

I got it working by pointing the wrapper to the vlc folder vlc = new VideoLanClient("C:\\Program Files\\VideoLAN\\VLC"); but this brought me into DennisL's problem of not displaying video on a second opening. starting a video in VLC reset this. ................. I'm running it this way an...

Re: Bogus 0.9.8a release ???

Thanks Arite, However, I have already downloaded the 0.9.8a version you suggested from j-b ( http://people.videolan.org/~jb/0.9.8a/vlc-0.9.8-win32.exe ) and find it is actually binary identical to the one hosted by videoHelp.com. It looks like something was wrong with the windows installer package f...

Bogus 0.9.8a release ???

I've been looking for 0.9.8 since it has been mentioned here and there on these forums and the web pages. Today I got an email notification that it was a new version (actually 0.9.8.a) on the videohelp web site: http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VLC_media_player One of their links led to the 0.9.6 vers...

Re: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'libvlc'

See my post regarding the wrapper from the Medios link. You shouldn't have to copy any dll's or plugins anywhere if you pass the VLC installation folder path as the argument of the VideoLanClient constructor. You should be able to get this path from the registry. On one XP computer I checked it was ...

Re: VideoLan.Interop a .Net libvlc 0.9.x wrapper

Plus one on the kudos, Kairos! This looks real nifty! I ran into a problem with the MediaPlayer.Sample program: (This is on Windows XP, using the Auxiliary Tarball downloaded tonight and the 0.9.7 VLC binaries.) First I bulit the solution, absolutely no problem. Then I ran the MediaPlayer.Sample pro...
