I deleted my /home config files and the same. main filesystem is reiserfs, /home directory filesystem is xfs. my /home directory is mounted in other partition.

vlc -vvv doesn't give any useful information.

Individual files are opened however directories not.

I use ubuntu 8.10 and latest version of vlc player. The problem is than vlc player can't open directories. When I try this vlc player reads the hard disk for a long time and it freezes. If I open same files individually It does it OK. I have tried removing vlc and /usr/share/vlc and reinstalling it ...
