Re: .xspf playlist won't open (due to mistake).

Thank you for your answers! One of the better ones I used, Validate XML files identified a problem which I corrected. I'm not expecting you to help me with the rest of it, as Hitchhiker commented, that, I will have to post in another Forum, but just to point out how difficult this is, after the 1st ...

.xspf playlist won't open (due to mistake).

I made a change in my/ a .xspf playlist true "Notepad ++" but obviously made some mistake somewhere (it won't open). (It's too late to step back with the Undo function, I have too little memory on my computer to have a "Restore point" - would in itself appreciate if someone knows...

Re: always on top fail

As Fabled writes, “always on top” functions poorly also in 3.0.4. I used 4.0.0 for more than a month where it worked flawlessly so I've installed it as a default to [Program Files] and then used a zip to install 3.0.4 in [Program Files (x86)] since playback speed in 4.0.0 when used in slow mode star...

Re: always on top fail

What were the benefits of moving the feature to "View" ? This is a long-established function that's been in VLC at its old place for a very long time. Isn't the use of it supposed to put VLC on top showing Videos while One's doing other things ? Since the move it has never worked for me. I...

I also put 16:9 above in ”Video cropping” for one live TV-stream and that seems to keep,
but I haven't done all of the experimenting described above with several items.

I had “Qt interface” checked under
Tools ⇨ Preferences ⇨ Show settings ⇨ All ⇨ Interface ⇨ Main Interfaces.

I'm also unfavourable of resetting, just collect whatever possibilities on this thread.

Re: "Playback Buttons" not removable.

Well, that basically will erase all that One may have used weeks in total time to assemble and put together.

Look, it’s just a suggestion; if developers won’t consider it, it’s their choice, perhaps for lack of time.

Re: "Playback Buttons" not removable.

For anyone not familiar with “Playback Buttons" it’s the grey blob on the right hand side of the Loop button. On the second picture with Customise Interface opened, it’s not visible; therefore not removable (through) this way. Please tell if you’d rather have pictures put directly on the post i...

"Playback Buttons" not removable.

After having added a button called "Playback Buttons" to VLC 2.1.3 (Rincewind)’s control-panel which afterwards wasn’t removable, I went in through C:\Users\Users_Name\AppData\Roaming\vlc (%appdata%\vlc) and opened “vlc-qt-interface.ini” as .txt (Notes) and scrolled down to (MainWindow) “M...

Re: Customize Interface: Profile changes irrevocable.

Thank you kindly.

Do you mean Tools=> Preferences=> Interface Settings=> Reset Preferences ?
Well that’s how I interpreted your answer and now used but in part wished to avoid.
Because I can’t find a default in the Select Profile menu as an alternative.

Customize Interface: Profile changes irrevocable.

I was quite happy to see that the control panel on Full Screen had an expanding button. I had the temerity to choose one of the profile options under Tools=> Customize Interface=> Select Profile (ToolbarProfiles?) so that button is no gone. The change also affects some items not showing on the Main ...

Reduce TV channels high bit-rate live video stream to lower?

Is it possible to reduce / filtrate an incoming live high bit-rate TV channels video stream (2.2 Mb) to a lower one for a slow computer ? I’ve been reading about streaming on the Documentation pages, as there is a tab named network under “Convert/Save”. Perhaps it is possible to stream to either ano...

Still awaiting the playlist saving issue to be fixed, an advise for any newbie saving like I do in an older player; be very vigilant as to check if the list really has been saved, like comparing previous amount of bits of data or just open a new player to see it the list opens. Yes. Same problem with previous ones. I’ve been using VLC for about 1½ year. Today I opened several of my playlists with “0.8.6f Janus” that I seldom use and have through another freeware; no such problem there. The ver. 0.8.6f Janus obviously also permit name changes, rearranging and keeping the ch...

So,...I’ve taken the screenshot and saved it but you’ll have to teach me on how to paste it in. “Insert” or “Ctrl+V” doesn’t do it whether it is saved as .jpg, .png or .bmp. All I end up with is img][/img : pushing the Img button. Can’t you really imagine what I mean by “yellow and blue folders” and...
